BOUCHET GUITAR

Robert Bouchet (1898-1986) was a painter, art teacher, and amateur guitarist who began making guitars in Paris, France, at age forty-eight. He had acquired an instrument from Julian Gomez Ramirez, but lost it, and decided to make a replacement, having observed Gomez Ramirez in his workshop. His first guitars imitated Torres, but later he developed his own plantilla (body shape) and strutting system. He only built some 150 guitars in his lifetime. Owners included Ida Presti and Alexandre Lagoya. Julian Bream hadthree built for him.
