BOURGEOIS

Dana Bourgeois (born 1953) is a maker of acoustic guitars prized by players including Ry Cooder, James Taylor, and Ricky Skaggs. He began working full-time as a luthier . in 1978. in 1995, after working with Martin, Paul Reed Smith, and Gibson, he formed ; Bourgeois Guitars. He had built more than 1,000 instruments when, in 2000, he established a new company, Pantheon Guitars, in Lewiston, Maine. With his team of eight co-workers he currently builds about thirty Bourgeois guitars a month. His ' instruments are especially popular with country and bluegrass players, particularly his dreadnoughts and jumbo orchestra models.
